Thou Shalt Not Take the Name of the Lord in Vain

With you, the second commandment of the catholic church

Thou Shalt Not Take the Name of the Lord in Vain (Ex 20, 7; Dt 5, 11)

This commandment and all the paraphernalia associated with it tells us not to take the name of the Lord our God, in vain. That is, not to use it for anything that isn’t honor, because it’s a saint's name, which has been given to those who believe in him, so it will only be used to glorify him.

This blog won’t do that.

This blog will mention the name of the Lord to point out the origin of the aberrations, abuses, hatred, discrimination, scorn, nonsenses and insults committed by those who deem themselves followers of god and commit all that has been mentioned before, in the name of that who they call the god of love, of justice, of goodness.

It has been told to us that “by their fruits you will know them”, which makes sense, wherever it comes from. Thus, the criticism to that god, whose name is used by some to pretend being a guidance of people, but at the same time it’s used and abused to commit crimes and abuses, is to be expected.

Of course, it’s undeniable the goodness and love that god might inspire. But since the ultimate purpose of that belief is to accomplish the so called sanctity, and being usually those same pastors, who commit abuses when they are the first ones who preach being nearer to god, the criticism to that god and what it inspires – the fruits – is obvious.

However, that god can not be held accountable, simply because its existence has not been proven. To accuse that god of something would be as ridiculous as honor it. Thus, the criticism can only go toward its followers, especially the pastors. Followers and pastors that are shielded behind their beliefs (that go from the space dictator that brought souls in planes, to the magic man in the sky who has an infinite hell for us, but at the same time loves us) to do whatever they want, and expect to be respected and have the name of their god respected.

And that’s exactly what this blog won’t do.

PD to my English readers: I’ll try to write in both in English and Spanish, but I will give preference to Spanish, since, besides being my mother language, Spanish-speaking people are in more need of encouragement and enlightenment. The poverty and ignorance that predates Latinoamerica makes it hard for my people to break free from religion and its chains. And also, it's good that you learn a new language.

PD 2: Thanks to Neece for helping me correct the English versions.
